The gem gets its name from Latin word ‘aqua’ that is water and ‘mare’ that means sea. It is the birthstone of people born in the month of March. The fascinatingly beautiful gemstone is loved by all women around the world for its fine blue shades. The divine, eternal light blue colour of the gemstone is associated with the feeling of sympathy, trust, harmony and friendship. It was used by the Greeks to make aquamarine jewellery.
